Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her mom raised her in the USA, where she faced numerous racial slurs that caused her to feel as someone who was not wanted. She began to gain confidence at the age of nineteen after she took part in a school audition and was highly praised for her performance. The experience not only boosted confidence in herself, but it also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In the year 23 she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she played the character of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway performance of Spamalot winning not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater recognition. An accomplished singer She has also recorded one single and an extended piece. As an activist, she strives for LGBT equality.
